Privacy policy

This policy explains how Virtuance Digital Marketing Ltd ("we") uses personal data when you use Clipopotamus and this website. We are the data controller.

What we collect

Account details: name, email address, password (stored securely by our login provider) and team membership.
Billing details: plan, invoices and payment status. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
Your content: photos, videos, audio, voice samples, logos, text and the videos you create.
Usage data: token usage, actions in the app, device and browser information, and, if you accept analytics cookies, website analytics.
Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.

Why we use it (and our legal basis)

To provide the Service and your account (contract).
To take payments and keep accounts and tax records (contract and legal obligation).
To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and improve it (legitimate interests).
To send service emails such as confirmations and receipts (contract).
For website analytics, only if you agree (consent).

Voice and face data

If you clone a voice or animate a face, we process that recording or image only to create what you asked for, and only after you confirm you have the person's permission. You can delete cloned voices at any time.

We use trusted providers to run the Service: Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), fal.ai and the AI model providers it connects to (video, image, voice and music generation), Anthropic (writing assistance), Shotstack (video rendering), Resend (email) and Google Analytics (website analytics, with consent). Some are outside the UK; where they are, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses are in place.

We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is open. Billing records are kept for 6 years for tax purposes. When you close your account, we delete your content within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@clipopotamus.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
